On what can I place my space heater?

alexis.auditore asked:

I have a 7″ tall, electric space heater. Fire safety instructions say not to place a space heater near furniture, bedding, curtains, or on carpet. But what does that leave? If I can’t put my space heater on a wood table, an upholstered chair, the carpet, or on a plastic/electrical appliance like on my TV, I’m not sure where it would be safe to place it.
This is for use in my bedroom.

The table works. Put it in the bathroom. ( Provided that there isnt carpet there. ) Space heaters have some kind of feet on them that gives it a cool area under it. Therefore as long as you put it on something hard and flat (Plastic may melt.) you should be ok. My advice is to keep an eye on it and see if it heats up the surface its sitting on.

    Got a metal tray?
Put that on the table face down.
    Put the heater on top.
Do keep the heater away from drapes etc.
